Being a spick-and-span French orderly man, Alphonse is interested in anthropometrics. Not only did he invent anthropometry, but he also contributed to the infamous “mug shot”.  Identifying a criminal based of their physical measurements is a method still used in France today. While the rest of the world moved on to fingerprint identification, Alphonse’s anthropometry findings play an important role in fashion design, ergonomics and architecture today.
